Here are some of my favourite wedding games that I’ve had the joy of running — each one tried, tested, and totally loved by guests of all ages.
💍 1. The Shoe Game
Best for: Couple spotlight, light-hearted laughs
This classic never fails! The newlyweds sit back-to-back, each holding one of their own shoes and one of their partner’s. I’ll ask a series of fun questions like “Who’s the better cook?” or “Who said ‘I love you’ first?” They raise the shoe of the person they think fits the answer. It's always a hit — funny, sweet, and great for photo ops!

💍 2. The Shoe Game with a twist - "Who's the Couple's Expert?" Game
Best for: Engaging your guests and finding out who knows the couple best! Think of this as a fun twist on the classic Shoe Game — but with a spotlight on your guests!
The newlyweds will kick things off by answering the first 5 questions on their own. Then, it’s over to the guests! I’ll read out fun, revealing questions like “Who is more likely to forget an anniversary?” or “Who made the first move?”
Guests will answer physically:
👰♀️ If they think it’s the bride, they place their hands on their waist.
🤵 If they think it’s the groom, hands go on their head.
Get it wrong? You’re out! Keep going until there’s one last guest standing — your true couple’s expert! This game always sparks laughter, surprises, and a little friendly competition.

🍬 3. Guess the Number of Candies
Best for: All guests – simple, sweet, and great for all ages!
This easy-to-play game adds a fun and interactive touch to your reception — and works especially well as a filler activity during cocktail hour, dinner, or between formalities.
How it works:
Set up a clear jar filled with candies (or lollies, chocolates, or even macarons to match your theme). Guests are invited to take a guess at how many are inside — no touching, just looking!
Provide a small station with guessing cards or a QR code for digital entries. At the end of the night, the closest guess wins the jar of goodies — or a special prize of your choice.
🎤 Wedding MC Tip: Announce the winner just before speeches or the cake cutting for a little surprise moment!
🪑 4. Musical Chairs (with a Twist!) - Scavenger Hunt
Best for: All ages, interactive energy
A grown-up twist on the childhood game. I once hosted a version where guests had to grab random items (a red lipstick, a man's tie, a flower from another table) instead of just sitting. It got everyone laughing and moving, especially the aunties and uncles who got way too competitive!
💌 5. Who Knows the Couple Best? (Trivia Game)
Best for: Guests who’ve known the couple forever
I prepare a few fun trivia questions about the couple — where they met, first date meal, favourite travel spot — and guests shout out or raise hands with their answers. It’s a great way to bring stories into the night and include everyone in a lighthearted challenge.

🎥 6. Kiss Cam & Dance Cam: Bring the Party Energy to Your Wedding
💋 Kiss Cam / Dance Cam Fun
Best for: All guests — perfect for relaxed, high-energy celebrations
Bring a little stadium or festival fun to your wedding with a Kiss Cam or Dance Cam! It's a fantastic way to keep guests entertained and engaged during those in-between moments.
How it works:
A live camera pans across the room during quiet periods — like during the signing of the registry, between meal courses, or just before speeches.
📸 When the camera lands on a couple, they’re invited to share a sweet (or cheeky!) kiss for the crowd.
🎶 Want to switch it up? Go for a Dance Cam! A fun, upbeat song plays, and whoever’s on screen gets to show off their best dance moves — cue the laughter and applause!
These spontaneous moments add energy, connection, and a whole lot of fun to the atmosphere — and guests absolutely love it.
🎤 Wedding MC Tip: This is a great way to fill slower transitions without losing momentum. Plus, it’s a great way to capture natural, joy-filled reactions on film!

💌 7. Potato Passing but with the Bridal Bouquet
Best for: All types of guests — perfect for weddings with fewer than 15 tables
Not every bride is a fan of the traditional bouquet toss — especially when most guests are already married or when you’re after something a little more meaningful (and less predictable).
So here’s a fun twist I’ve introduced at a few weddings:
Instead of tossing the bouquet, the bride personally hands it to a random guest. Then the DJ plays an upbeat song while the bouquet is passed from guest to guest around the room. When the music suddenly stops — whoever is holding the bouquet stands up and shares a piece of advice or a message for the couple.
It can be heartfelt, cheeky, romantic, or even hilarious! It's always a crowd-pleaser and a beautiful way to involve guests in the celebration in a more thoughtful and interactive way.
📸8. Photoboomb Game - Frame It With Love
Best for: All guests — especially great for couples who may not have time to take photos with everyone
Looking for a fun way to capture moments with all your guests and keep the energy up? This game is perfect!
Here’s how it works: The couple will sit in the middle of the dance floor, as if they’re the centre of a giant photo frame. One by one, each table or guest group will take turns coming up to strike a quick pose with the couple — funny, casual, cheeky… anything goes!
A lively song will play in the background to keep the momentum going, and guests need to move fast! When the music stops, the last table that hasn’t come up yet loses the round. You can play this game 2–3 times to make sure the couple gets a chance to snap a photo with every group.
It’s a fun, interactive way to capture memories — and it beats running around to every table later in the night!
👀 9. Guess Who is Who?
Best for: The Couple — fun, flirty, and full of laughs!
This game is always a crowd-pleaser and brings lots of laughs (and maybe a few blushes!) as the couple puts their instincts to the test.
How it works:
The MC invites 5–10 random guests to the front. One of them will secretly be the bride (hidden in the mix), and the groom’s job is to figure out which one is his bride — but only by checking a body part like a hand, foot, leg, or even an ear... no peeking allowed!
Then, it’s time to switch! The groom blends in with a group of male guests, and the bride has to identify her groom — again, just by touching a single body part. The suspense and reactions are priceless!
This game is flirty, funny, and full of energy — a great way to show off the couple’s connection while getting guests involved and cheering them on.
🎤 MC Tip: Choose upbeat background music, keep the crowd

🎁 Bonus Tip: Use Prizes for Extra Fun
Even small prizes — chocolates, drink vouchers, or cute wedding favours — make a big difference. It adds excitement and encourages guests to join in.
Final Thoughts
Games are a fantastic way to bring energy, laughter, and connection to your reception — and they’re even better when they’re tailored to your vibe. I always work closely with couples to find the perfect mix of fun and flow that suits their crowd. At the end of the day, it’s all about creating a celebration that feels like you.
